A Weddings Band Your Wedding – The Perfect Alternative

January 06, 2010 By: Jessica Hemmings Category: Wedding

Your wedding day is very special and as such the occasion should be perfect. Attention needs to be paid to every detail so as an alternative to doing what most people do and booking a local DJ to entertain those attending your wedding, why not enjoy the sounds of a weddings band?

You want your wedding day to be a super event that is remembered by all present and hiring a weddings band to play for you is sure to do exactly this.

The one stumbling block for some people when considering having a live band play at their wedding is the cost of the whole band.

The cost may seem a lot more than a mobile disco but I feel that you get what you pay for in general. A band consists anything from 2-6plus people and the larger the band the pricier it becomes.

A band member will earn less than a local DJ because he has to split the fee received with his band mates and the cost of all the equipment used is more than used in a mobile disco. This shows we pay more but hopefully we should get more in the form of musical entertainment.

A band can seem more professional in its appearance and that can suit a lot of weddings that require that more formal setting. They can adapt their style to any given situation whether it is background or mood music or just plain livelier get up and dance kind of music. It is your wedding; you create the atmosphere you want.

If you decide to go ahead and get a band for your wedding how would you go about it? Good question. The first thing you should do is go online and search for wedding bands and select the ones you like according to style of music. Select ones with a website or a social networking page that has songs or videos you can listen to accompanied by good testimonials. This should now help you choose your preferred band.

You can find almost for sure how a good a band is for yourself if you go to one of their local gigs. The locations are normally posted on their website if not just ring them up and ask them. You are your best judge when it comes to the music you want played at your wedding.

One last thing – a live music license is required for weddings bands to play, so make sure the venue of your event has this organized. Overlooking one small detail like this may mess up your whole day and you really don’t want that to happen, do you?
